Modern Elegance
This elegant space was designed to retain as much character as possible, whilst giving this early 1900s home a modern & functional kitchen. Originally a very dark space, all timber work was painted white, a new window added & a wall to the dining room was removed to encourage more light. Black panelled cabinetry was specified to create a modern take on a traditional style, & the feature brick wall was retained to bring texture & character. The original timber floors were polished, antique pendant lighting was selected, & classic subway tiles finish the look. This kitchen won the NKBA Excellence in Design 2018 Chapter Recognition Award, the $25-40K Distinction category & also placed runner up in the Classic Kitchen category.
